Executive Chair/ Fred Mendelsohn
Fred is Executive Chair of AXM Venture Capital and the Liverpool City Region Seed Fund and the NWF4D&C. He is also a partner in MST Capital which invests in mid-sized leveraged finance transactions. In 2000 he co-founded Axiomlab Group Plc, which made over 30 direct and indirect investments in early-stage businesses. In 1998, he launched Sibson & Co. in Europe, a US-based management consultancy business. After working for McKinsey & Co. in London, Scotland, and Dublin, he founded a corporate finance boutique in 1995. Fred gained an MBA from the Harvard Business School, as well as an MA from St Edmund Hall, Oxford University.
Investment Director / Rupert Wingate-Saul
Rupert is an Investment Director with the LCR Seed Fund and North West Fund for Digital & Creative. Rupert joined AXM in 2012 and has led over 20 investments, supporting investee companies to raise more than £65m of co-investment. These deals include a number of successful exits; Playdemic (acquired by Warner Bros), Sentric Music (acquired by Utopia AG), Collabco (acquired by Ready Education) and LiftUpp (acquired by Examsoft). Rupert set-up Founder Funding Groups which now operates in Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield. His background is in the telecommunications sector at Analysys Mason, advising on mobile, spectrum and hardware investments.
Investment Director/Joanne Evans
Joanne is an Investment Director with the LCR Seed Fund. She was also an investment director with The North West Fund for Digital & Creative. She founded and exited a media company and has managed software and digital health companies.
